Sanja Ćamilović, rođena 1951 u ex-Jugoslaviji. Radi i živi u Belgiji od 1972.

Sa 16 godina je primljena u Atelje 212 , gde četiri godine igra u poznatom mjuziklu "Kosa". U Ateljeu 212 i Narodnom pozorištu je radila kao asistent za kostim. Pevala je i igrala u Domu omladine kao i na beogradskoj TV.

U Beogradu je provela prekrasnu mladost. Kreirala je haljine za poznate glumice,pevačice i balerine.

Posle toga Sanja kreće u svet: prvo u Švedsku pa u Belgiju.

Dolazi na Kraljevsku akademiju i biva primljena na treću godinu kao izuzetan talenat.

Danju je išla na predavanja, a noću šila da bi preživela.

Diplomski završava s najvećom mogućom ocenom i nagradom za mlade talente, povodom toga belgijska televizija pravi emisiju o njoj i njenom radu pod nazivom: "Dobro veče Sanja".

Kao kostimograf radila je za televiziju, operu, flandrijski balet i mnoga pozorišta a zatim nastavlja studije na Odseku modernog nakita, na istoj akademiji.

Potom odlazi za Njujork, gdje radi za modnu kuću ekskluzivne koktel haljine, koje su proizvedene u Indiji.

Revija je održana u poznatom hotelu Tadž Mahal u Bombaju.

U Antwerpen se vrača i upoznaje ljubav svog života, supruga Juliena, s kojim osniva kompaniju Camilovic design.

Rade unikatne nakite, ekskluzivne modne haljine koji su prodavani po celoj Evropi. Sanja biva proglašena dizajnerom godine u Belgiji. Od celokupnih radova koji se stilski razlikuju najviše uspeha je imala slikajući popunjene dame.

Izlagala je sa svetski poznatim umetnicima, uz Franka Botera i Niki de Saint Phalle izlaže u muzeju dr. Guislan u Ghentu.

Slikanjem punijih dama se proslavila u Evropi, Americi i Japanu.

To je postao njen zaštitni znak, slike koje odišu toplinom, nježnošću, vedrinom, zadovoljstvom, srećom i ljubavi.

Njene slike su odraz njenog životnog nastojanja da kroza sve što radi provuče nit poveznicu, ljubav.

Glavna tema Ćamilović je "žena" , ali i događaji iz svakodnevnog života.

Poseduje specijalnu i duboku sposobnost da sve prikaze u ritmu svog senzibiliteta.

Konstanta koja povezuje njene radove su ritam oblika , kretanja u boji i raskosan sjaj koji stoji u sredini svega. Ona je uvijek u kontroli , nikad ne dopuštajući prezentaciji da bude prolazna prica. Sa svojim karakteristicnim sarmom i nežnošću, Ćamilović radi slike i skulpture koje zrače svojom posebnom strašću za životom.


Sanja Camilovic was born in 1951 in ex-Yugoslavia, but has lived and worked in Belgium since 1972.

At the age of 16 Sanja was admitted to the Atelier 212, where she played in the famous musical show "Hair".

In the Atelier 212 and in the National Theatre worked as a costume assistant.

She danced and sang in the Youth Center as well as on the Belgrade TV.

She spend a beuatifull youth in Belgrade. She created evening gownds for famous actresses, singers and balerins.

After that Sanja sets off into the world: first to Sweden than, in Antwerp, Belgium. She attends the Royal Academy and was admitted to the third year as an outstanding talent. During the day she went to the lecture, and at the night she was doing needlework to survive. She graduated with highest marks and won prize for young talents. Belgian television made show after her entitled: "Good evening Sanja". She worked as a costume designer for television, opera, Flemish ballet and many other theatres. She continued her studies at the Royal Academy at Department of modern jewelry.

Upon completing her studies, Sanja set sails to New York, where she worked for the fashion house making exclusive cocktail dresses ( made in India). One of the fashion shows was held at the famous hotel Taj Mahal in Bombay.

After successful New York story she returned to Antwerp where she met the love of her life, her husband Julien, with whom she founded the company Camilovic design.

They made unique jewelry sold throughout world as well as exclusive cocktail dresses. She won prize for the Belgium designer of the year.

Her paintings are reflection of her life: she does every little thing with love. From all her artistic and designer work, her paintings of corpulent ladies made her famous. She expoced in many galleries, together with famous painters. In dr. Guislain museum in Ghent she exposed together with Frank Botero and Niki de Saint Phalle.

Sanja's paintings of corpulent ladies became famous in Europe, Japan and America. This became her trade mark, paintings full of warmth, affection, serenity, pleasure, happiness and love.

Camilovic's main subject is "Woman" as well as the events drawn from everyday life. She possesses a very particular deep ability to incorporate everything into the rhythm of her own sensibility. Indeed, one sees the rhythm of forms, the movement of colour, a voluptuous glow in the belly of her creations as a rich constant in her work. But she is always in control, never allowing her presentations to fall into mere anecdote. With her characteristic flair and grace, Camilovic brings forth paintings and sculptures that radiate their own very special lust-for-life.
